Our vision

To be THE Rules People:

  • The privileged partner of organizations, big and small, private and public, wishing to adopt and implement the business rules approach.

Our history

INFORMILI was incorporated in 1993, with a Federal (Canadian) Charter, with the mission of disseminating state of the art processes, practices, and tools in software development through training, coaching, and high-value consulting. We started working in the business rules field (operational decision management) in 1996, as a training and professional services partner of ILOG Inc. purchased by IBM in 2009. We have been working with IBM since 2009, and became a registered partner in 2016.

During this 20+ year period, we have worked with dozens of customers from the US (mostly), Canada, and Europe, ranging from start-ups to government agencies and Fortune 100 companies from many industries including banking, insurance, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, and e-government

Irina Muhina, Ph.D., Senior Data Scientist
irina@informili.com

A renowned professional in her field, Irina brings to the table a unique combination of all-encompassing knowledge about data, a talent for translating seemingly unrelated information into meaningful insights, and leadership abilities that enable her to turn these insights into working strategies to optimize operations, promote client loyalty, and grow business holistically.

With 5 years of practical field experience and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Irina started working in the financial sector in 1996, when she joined the Royal Insurance Company as a Statistician in the Actuarial Department. A year later, she moved to a Senior Analyst role with the Bank of Montreal, where she developed an innovative customer segmentation methodology that was used by BMO's marketing department for the next 12 years. In 2002, Irina started working for the RBC, spearheading predictive modelling to streamline short- and long-term decision-making at the bank. She returned to BMO in 2005, leading a team of 16 in analyzing consumer preferences and behaviour patterns, and leveraging this knowledge to foster client-centric product development and maximize marketing returns. She spent the last seven years with Manulife Asset Management, in Portfolio Solution Group which oversaw a $110B AUM to ensure the optimization of asset and manager allocation and minimize risks through stochastic modelling and scenario simulation. Irina’s expertise as a Data Scientist has also been instrumental in reducing annual portfolio rebalance time at Manulife from 15-20 business days to only one. Moreover, the pension plan LDI product that Ms. Muhina has designed and implemented has already been patented in the USA, and is due to receive a Canadian patent this year.
